PHPA Auctioning Complete Set of Game-Worn 2008 ECHL All-Star Jerseys

The Professional Hockey Players’ Association will be auctioning a complete set of forty-one (41) game-worn jerseys from the recent 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star game, beginning Friday February 8th until Monday February 18th, with all proceeds benefiting the PHPA/ECHL Health and Welfare Trust fund.
The jersey auction, which will be hosted on eBay, will commence on Friday February 8th at 9pm and close on Monday Feb 18th at 9pm. The complete set of American Conference and National Conference jerseys were game-worn during the second period of the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game, and include a certificate of authenticity. The opening bid for each jersey is set at $200.
"This jersey auction is a unique opportunity for fans and collectors to obtain a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia, while creating a valuable benefit for ECHL players and their families," said PHPA Executive Director Larry Landon.
All proceeds from the jersey auction benefit the PHPA/ECHL Health and Welfare Trust fund, which is the entity responsible for providing insurance benefits to the players and their families.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the city of Stockton, the record-setting ECHL All-Star Game was played in front of 7,455 fans at the Stockton Arena on January 23rd, 2008, and was available live in more than 80 million homes on he NHL Network for the sixth consecutive year.
Showcasing some of the top prospects in the Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League, the ECHL All-Star game has produced 42 players who have gone on to play in the NHL, including 26 since 2002 when the format was changed to feature younger players.
