(St. Catharines, ON) The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to announce its elected Executive Committee for the 2008-09 season.
Player Representatives, Nate DiCasmirro (Syracuse), Mike Hoffman (Portland), Dan Jancevski (Iowa), Gavin Morgan (Rockford), Dan Smith (Syracuse), and Pete Vandermeer (San Antonio) will serve on the American Hockey League Executive Committee, while Mac Faulkner (Columbia), Jim Henkel (Trenton), Jeff Kyrzakos (Charlotte), Curtiss Patrick (Wheeling), and Ken Scuderi (Augusta) will serve on the ECHL Executive Committee. Each member of the PHPA Executive was nominated, then elected through a formal secret ballot process, by fellow Player Representatives in attendance at the PHPA Annual Meeting.
“The Executive Committee is an integral aspect to the successful operation of the PHPA, and I look forward to working closely with all of these proactive young professionals as they further develop into leaders both on and off the ice,” said PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon.
The members of the PHPA Executive Committee provide direction and oversight in dealing with various matters of importance to the Association and its Membership between meetings of PHPA Player Representatives. Elected Executives may serve three (3) seasons, before having to be re-elected at the Association’s Annual Meeting of Player Representatives, traditionally held in June. Appointed Executives serve one (1) season, and are then subject to a formal election process.
