October PHPA - BioSteel Performers of the Month

The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) and BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. are pleased to announce the October 2017 PHPA - BioSteel Performer of the Month Award recipients from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.

Andrew Mangiapane of the Stockton Heat receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency throughout the month. With 5 goals and 10 assists in 9 games, Mangiapane leads the league in scoring with 15 points. The Calgary Flames draft pick has recorded at least a point in all 9 games this season including five multi-point games, and is +10 on the season.

In the ECHL, Kyle Platzer of the Wichita Thunder receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistent play.  Platzer kicked off the 2017-18 season by scoring 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in the Thunder’s first 6 games, including four multi-point games.  A fourth round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2013, Platzer, has a +/- of +8.

Both players will receive a prize package courtesy of BioSteel in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the first month of the regular season.
