The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to unveil a 50th Anniversary video, featuring comments from some of the most influential names in hockey, including NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, NHLPA Executive Director Don Fehr, AHL President David Andrews, NHL General Managers, PHPA Alumni, and media personalities.

The 6-minute video reel outlines why the Association was formed in 1967, while providing intimate knowledge on how the PHPA, the only minor league players association within a major league sport, has quietly benefitted professional hockey players over the past 50 years, including the reputation it has earned throughout the hockey community.

“We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received when asking prominent members and leaders from within the hockey community if they would be willing to comment on what the PHPA has meant to the sport over the past 50 years,” said PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon.  “I sincerely thank all those who were involved in the production of this video.  Without your help, we would not be in a position to show the world how far we have come as an Association and what we strive to accomplish on behalf of our players and their families.”

The video was filmed and produced by Jake Fair from dbl dbl media, and formally unveiled during the closing banquet ceremonies of the Association’s 50th Annual Meeting of Player Representatives.
