How did you become a PHPA Player Representative and what are some of your roles and responsibilities?
I was originally the secondary PHPA Rep but was appointed to lead team rep when our rep got traded. My responsibilities include understanding programs along with rights that the PHPA has established with the league and providing guidance on this information to my teammates.
Why did you choose to attend Colgate University and what did you enjoy most about your time there?
Colgate was an easy choice because I was able to push myself academically while also joining a program where I saw a good opportunity to develop my game and play in key situations. My favorite memories there were made when I was living in a house with eight of my teammates and building lifelong friendships with those guys.
While at Colgate, you majored in economics and minored in theatre. If you weren’t a professional hockey player, what would you be doing as your full-time job?
If I didn't make it on Broadway, I think I would enjoy something in wealth management.
Earlier this season you made your NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs. What memory stands out to you the most and what did you take away from that experience?
Being able to play in Toronto for a team with such a rich history and a passionate fan base, was a dream come true. It was a lot of excitement and nerves but having the people there that were instrumental in getting me to that point in my career meant the world to me. It took a lot of support and encouragement from the people around me to reach that milestone and their presence in the arena made the experience even more special. The journey to that point taught me that taking each day as an opportunity to get better is crucial in achieving your goals. The memories of that debut game will forever serve as a reminder of what can be accomplished through passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to a dream.
