(Niagara Falls, ON) The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to announce Bernard Pellegrino, Esq. as the recipient of the 2019 PHPA Workers’ Compensation Panel of Attorneys Member of the Year Award.
An attorney representing the state of Connecticut, Pellegrino was presented with the annual Award at the 2019 PHPA Workers’ Compensation Panel of Attorneys Meeting held September 20th and 21st in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. He was recognized not only for his dedication and leadership on behalf of past, present, and future PHPA Members, but the outstanding manner in which he plans and executes workers’ compensation cases for injured players.
“The time and effort Bernard pours into each workers’ compensation case, including the detailed communication with players, PHPA staff, and others Panel members is exemplary, and truly demonstrates the passion he has for helping our injured Members,” said PHPA Executive Director Larry Landon. “He has gone the extra mile whenever necessary to ensure acceptable outcomes for those whom he has represented, and as such, is truly deserving of this prestigious award and recognition.”
Pellegrino has been an attorney at The Pellegrino Law Firm since earning his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 1988. He is the founder of the Sports and Entertainment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and member of the Sports Lawyers Association and the ABA’s Forum on the Sports and Entertainment Industries. Noted for his community involvement, Pellegrino is the Past President of the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Past President of the Board of Directors of the Clifford W. Beers Guidance Clinic, Inc., former counsel of the Home Builders Association of Greater New Haven, and Chair of the North Haven Education Foundation, Inc., which raises funds to support educational initiatives for children.
