About the PHPA

Working for the players

The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is the certified collective bargaining representative for players in the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL, representing over 1,800 athletes across 62 teams in North America.

Its primary role is negotiating benefits through a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including health coverage, housing, travel expenses, per diems, and player programs.
