(Niagara Falls, ON) The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to announce that Modesto Diaz and Chris Ginocchio have been selected as co-recipients of the 2023 PHPA Workers’ Compensation Panel of Attorneys Member of the Year Award.
The California based attorneys who are partners in the law firm Leviton, Diaz & Ginocchio, Inc were presented with the Award at the 2023 PHPA Workers’ Compensation Panel of Attorneys Meeting held September 8th and 9th in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.
“The professional and timely manner in which Modesto and Chris represent our players is truly exemplary given the volume of workers’ compensation cases they handle each year with a combined eight professional hockey teams in the state of California,” said PHPA Executive Director Larry Landon. “This recognition for having worked closely together for so many years to deliver favorable outcomes on behalf of our injured Members is much deserved.”
Diaz graduated from the Pacific Coast University School of Law in 1983 and has since been named Orange Country Trial Attorney of the Year (2006), Alumni of the Year from Pacific Coast University School of Law (2006), and Volunteer of the Year for Latino Health Access (2002).
Ginocchio has over 32 years of experience in workers’ compensation law having obtained his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in 1990. He is the Past Chapter President of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association.
Both Diaz and Ginocchio also assist the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA), National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) with their workers’ compensation claims cases.
