This past holiday season, the Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) teamed up with Scenic Tours of Niagara and other local businesses with the aim to stuff a 20’ bus with toys and other non-perishable food items in support of Project Share Niagara.

The initiative proved successful as over 398 pounds of food and 209 pounds of toys lined the bus when it was driven from the PHPA parking lot to Project Share Niagara, assisting a number of families in need throughout Niagara Falls, Ontario.  The estimated value of total goods contributed was over $4,000.

“I would like to thank all those who were involved including some key community partners for helping make this year’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ initiative a resounding success,” said Darryl Dionne, PHPA Director of Communications and Business Development.  “We look forward to contributing even more items next holiday season.”

Project Share provides emergency food to an average of 100 families per day and was able to provide food and gifts for over 4,000 people last Christmas thanks to the generous support of the Niagara Falls community.  For more information on Project Share, visit: http://www.projectshare.ca.
