The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) and BioSteel are pleased to announce the PHPA – BioSteel Performer of the Month Award recipients for the month of October.

Filip Lindberg of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins receives the BioSteel Performer of the Month Award for his high performance and consistency to begin the season.  In his first professional season, Lindberg has posted a sparkling .942 save percentage and 1.71 goals against average en route to a 4-0 record throughout October.  The Finland native signed with the Penguins after a stellar two-year carrer at UMass-Amherst that concluded with a National Championship in April. 

In the ECHL, Charle-Edouard D’Astous of the Utah Grizzlies receives the BioSteel Performer of the Month Award for demonstrating high performance and consistent play throughout the first month of the season.  In six games, D’Astous registered eight points, leading all defenceman and placing him tied for second in league scoring. He was +9 during the month, and has helped his team get off to a 4-2-0-0 start, sitting atop the Mountain Divison.  

Both players will receive a prize package courtesy of BioSteel in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the month.
