(Niagara Falls, ON) The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of four (4) Members to its 2022-23 Executive Committee.

Tommy Cross (Springfield Thunderbirds) and Chase Wouters (Abbotsford Canucks) will join Cameron Gaunce, Garrett Mitchell, Dillon Simpson, and Brett Sutter on the American Hockey League Executive while Mathieu Brodeur (Trois-Rivieres Lions) and Justin Vaive (Cincinnati Cyclones) will serve alongside Spencer Asuchak, Shawn Szydlowski, and Justin Taylor to comprise the ECHL Executive.

Members of the PHPA Executive Committee provide direction and oversight in dealing with various matters of importance to the PHPA and its Membership.  Elected Executives may serve three (3) seasons before having to be re-elected.  Players appointed by the Executive Director serve a one (1) year term before having to be elected.

“We have bolstered the PHPA Executive Committee with some of the most well respected leaders in our sport today, whose input and guidance will be integral to the continued successful operation of the PHPA,” said PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon  “I would like to thank outgoing Executive members Kevin Czuczman, Jake Flegel, Nelson Nogier, and Jordan Smotherman for the leadership and direction they provided on behalf of PHPA Members, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic which were some of the most difficult our sport and Membership have ever endured.”
