(Niagara Falls, ON) The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is pleased to announce its 2023-24 Executive Committee.

Jimmy Oligny (Manitoba Moose), Xavier Ouellet (Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins), Brett Sutter (Calgary Wranglers), Chris Terry (Chicago Wolves), and Tyler Wotherspoon (Utica Comets) were elected to the American Hockey League Executive Committee at the 2023 PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives and will join Chase Wouters (Abbotsford Canucks) who was appointed to the Committee by PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon. 

Spencer Asuchak (Allen Americans), Todd Skirving (Newfoundland Growlers), Shawn Szydlowski (Fort Wayne Komets), Justin Taylor (Kalamazoo Wings), and Justin Vaive (Cincinnati Cyclones) were elected to the ECHL Executive Committee at the 2023 PHPA Annual Meeting of Player Representatives.

Collectively, members of the 2023-24 Executive Committee bring nearly 124 years of combined experience playing professional hockey between the National Hockey League (NHL), AHL, and ECHL.

“Our Executive Committee brings a formidable blend of leadership and a deep understanding of the game, reinforcing the Executive Committee’s dedication to advancing the rights and well-being of professional hockey players,” said PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon. “I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all outgoing Executive members including Tommy Cross, Cameron Gaunce, Garrett Mitchell, and Dillon Simpson who not only helped the PHPA and American Hockey League navigate through the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, but whose input on several key issues and participation in the AHL Board of Governors meetings undoubtedly left a mark on the PHPA and our sport.”

Members of the Executive Committee provide direction and oversight in dealing with various matters of importance to the PHPA and its Membership.  Elected Executives may serve three (3) seasons before having to be re-elected.  Players appointed by the Executive Director serve a one (1) year term before having to be elected.
