The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) and BioSteel Sports Supplements are pleased to announce the February 2014 BioSteel Award Winners from the American Hockey League (AHL), ECHL, and Central Hockey League (CHL).

Jake Allen of the Chicago Wolves receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance throughout the month.  Allen posted a 6-1 record including a shutout on February 23^rd to go along with a 2.10 goals against average and .924 save percentage.  In addition, he represented the American Hockey League All-Stars at the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic in St.John’s, Newfoundland against Farjestad where he was named to the starting line-up, stopping all 14 shots he faced.

In the ECHL, Justin Taylor of the Kalamazoo Wings receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistency throughout the month of February.  In 11 games played, Taylor notched 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points and went +11, recording points in 10 of 11 games played.

Tulsa Oilers forward Ben Gordon receives the CHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistent play after posting 14 goals and 8 assists for 22 points in only 10 games.  He was a +13 and recorded points in 8 of 10 games during the month.

Each player will receive complementary BioSteel product in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the month.
