The Professional Hockey Players’ Association and BioSteel are pleased to announce the January 2019 PHPA-BioSteel Performer of the Month Award recipients from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL. 

Alex Nedeljkovic of the Charlotte Checkers receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency demonstrated throughout the month of January.  Nedeljkovic led the Checkers with a perfect 6-0-0 record in January with an impressive 1.78 goals against average and .937 save percentage.  His exceptional month included two shutout performances saving 34 and 20 shots in each respective effort.  Nedeljkovic’s strong month has culminated an impressive 2018-19 season so far where he currently leads all AHL goalies in wins with 21.

In the ECHL, Joe Cox of the Florida Everblades receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistency.  In the month of January, Cox recorded 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points in 13 games played with Florida.  His outstanding effort included a plus-minus rating of +16 and five multi point games.  Cox currently sits third in ECHL league scoring with 49 points.

Both players will receive a prize package courtesy of BioSteel in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the month of January.
