The Professional Hockey Players’ Association and BioSteel are pleased to announce the December 2019 PHPA-BioSteel Performer of the Month Award recipients from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL. 

Brogan Rafferty of the Utica Comets receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency demonstrated throughout the month of December.  Rafferty tallied 3 goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 13 games throughout December. His outstanding month included six multi-point games and a plus-minus rating of +7. The first-year defenseman is currently second in AHL rookie scoring while leading all AHL defenseman in scoring with 32 points in 37 games.

In the ECHL, Tim McGauley of the Utah Grizzlies receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistency.  In the month of December, McGauley played in 12 games where he recorded an impressive 10 goals and 15 assists for 15 points and league leading plus-minus rating of +22.  The 24-year-old was only held off the score sheet in one contest over December, while recording 6 multi point games including one hat-trick and one 7-point night vs the Wichita Thunder on December 17^th.
