Professional hockey players deal with a vast array of issues on and off the ice in their pursuit to reach the next level of the sport. Even when a player is performing at his peak on the ice, he may have some off-ice issues that need attention.
It is for this reason that the Professional Hockey Players’ Association implemented the REDLINE program; a free and confidential resource that PHPA Members and their families can turn to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speak to a trained professional about any issues impacting them.
Whether a player is battling through an injury, stressed, feeling anxious, feeling depressed, troubled with addiction, feeling strain on a relationship, worried about legal issues, in need of financial advice, dealing with general mental health issues, or any number of items, players can call the REDLINE any time of day as a free, confidential service for any type of assistance.
Through the Ceridian LifeWorks program, and with the assistance from the American Hockey League, and ECHL, the PHPA initiated the REDLINE program as a collection of resources, specific to professional hockey players, which can be utilized to help prevent situations from spiraling out of control.
To help fund the continued development of the Redline program, the PHPA canvasses various teams, League offices, and other organizations throughout the hockey community for hockey memorabilia (items donated often include game worn jerseys, autographed jerseys, autographed team sticks, pucks, and much more!), which is then auctioned by the PHPA.
You can help support the REDLINE program by bidding on any number of items from the impressive list below:
