This past holiday season, the Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) teamed with Community Transport Group (CTG) and other local businesses with the aim to stuff a 20’ bus with toys and other non-perishable food items in support of Project Share Niagara.
The initiative proved successful as over 376 pounds of food and 440 pounds of toys lined the bus when it was driven from the PHPA parking lot to Project Share Niagara, assisting a number of families in need throughout Niagara Falls, Ontario.
“I would like to thank all those who were involved including some key community partners for helping make the ‘Stuff the Bus’ initiative a resounding success,” said Darryl Dionne, PHPA Director of Communications and Business Development. “We look forward to building upon this year’s event and contributing even more items next holiday season.”
Project Share provides emergency food to an average of 100 families per day and was able to provide food and gifts for over 4,400 people last Christmas thanks to the generous support of the Niagara Falls community. For more information on Project Share, visit: http://www.projectshare.ca.
