The Professional Hockey Players’ Association and BioSteel are pleased to announce the February 2016 BioSteel Player of the Month Award recipients from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.
Chris Bourque of the Hershey Bears receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency demonstrated throughout the month. Bourque recorded 4 goals and 13 assists for 17 points, including points in 9 of eleven games played as well as 6 multi-point games. He currently leads the AHL in scoring with 61 points, and helped propel the Hershey Bears to first place in the Atlantic Division standings.
In the ECHL, Shane Berschbach of the Toledo Walleye receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistent play. He led all ECHL players with 16 points (8 goals and 8 assists) in only 10 games during the month of February including six consecutive multi-point games. Berschback’s contributions also included 3 game winning goals in 3 straight games for the Walleye on February 20th, 21st, and 26th.
Both players will receive a prize package courtesy of BioSteel in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the month of February.
