The Professional Hockey Players’ Association and BioSteel are pleased to announce the January 2017 PHPA-BioSteel Performer of the Month Award recipients from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.
Jordan Weal of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency demonstrated throughout the month of January. Weal is currently on an 8-game point streak that started January 13th, during which he has 4 goals and 8 assists. In the month of January, he has registered 14 points in 11 games, and represented the Phantoms at the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic.
In the ECHL, Carter Verhaeghe of the Missouri Mavericks receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistent play during his 11-game point streak that started on January 6th where he has tallied 9 goals and 15 assists (24 points), including 9 multi-point performances.
Both players will receive a prize package courtesy of BioSteel in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the month of December.
