The Professional Hockey Players’ Association and BioSteel Sports are pleased to announce the October 2014 BioSteel player of the month from the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.

Kris Newbury of the Hershey Bears receives the AHL BioSteel Award for his high performance and consistency throughout the month.  In eight games played throughout the month, Newbury tallied 4 goals and 8 assists for 12 points, while registering his 500^th career AHL point on October 31^st against Manchester.  He currently leads the League in total points. 

In the ECHL, Curtis Valk of the Kalamazoo Wings receives the BioSteel Award for demonstrating high performance and consistent play, tallying 4 goals and 10 assists and showing +4 in only 6 games played.  Valk recorded at least one point in every game played throughout the month, including a 4-point effort against Cincinnati.

Each player will receive complementary BioSteel product in recognition of their accomplishments throughout the first month of the regular season.
