WORCESTER, Mass. – Railers captain Anthony Repaci made club history last weekend as he netted his 61st career goal, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading goalscorer.
But maybe even more valuable than Repaci’s scoring ability is his leadership. He’s in his first season as Railers captain, it’s a position he takes a lot of pride in, while feeling that there are a lot of leaders on the club.
“It’s a little different, but I try to be the same person I was the past couple seasons being an assistant captain,” Repaci said. “We have a great leadership group here, obviously Blade Jenkins the assistant he helps a lot, and there’s guys on this team that don’t wear letters but are a leader themselves. They’ve done a great job, the coaching staff, so there’s a lot of leaders in this room. It doesn’t just rely on Jenkins and myself – so far so good.”
The Railers are on the road this weekend with a three-in-three at Fort Wayne. Worcester is 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.
During the PHPA Annual Meetings, Executive Director Brian Ramsay surprised Bert Villarini by naming him the latest recipient of the Curt Leichner Distinguished Member Award.
